The Buchanan Books

I’m in the process of collecting all the Buchanan titles in all the different editions and reprints. Though William Ard completed only six Buchanan novels, he created such a compelling character that Buchanan continued his adventures through the 1980s in novels ghost written by Bob Silverberg, Brian Garfield and William R. Cox.

In this section I want to follow Buchanan’s whole life cycle for several reasons. First, it’s interesting to see how the covers change over the years, from the art and type to the way the hero is depicted. It’s also interesting to note the subtle alterations — change in typeface size or color.

This section will continue to grow as I acquire more titles and it may be a long process as many of the titles saw several printings and several editions.

As with the other sections, please feel free to correct any wrong information or update me with any information you might have.

Anticipating new acquisitions –I’m continually buying single editions and whole lots — I’ll leave blank spots to fill in later.
